Housing White Paper ‘Fixing our Broken Housing Market’ – onshore wind energy
The Housing White Paper represented the last Government’s proposed approach to tackling some of the big issues facing the housing market in the UK. It was chiefly concerned with increasing housing delivery, but it also included some proposed changes to the Government’s approach to planning for sustainable development and the environment.

Community Energy Policy Brief: Summer 2017
This briefing, based on the 2017 findings of the first ever Community Energy State of the Sector report, demonstrates how the sector has grown significantly in just the last 7/8 years to deliver real benefits for consumers and communities alike.
It shows too how– with modest support– these projects across the UK can make an even bigger contribution to the nation and are perfectly placed to play a central role in realising the government’s energy ambitions.

Broken Promises - How the government broke its word to the community energy movement
In Spring 2015, after a campaign which had clearly demonstrated the many social and environmental benefits that community energy brings to local communities, the Government (i.e. the Treasury) gave repeated written assurances as part of the final states of the Finance Act that it would give the community energy sector 6 months notice of the removal of Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) tax relief, which is vital to the success of many community energy projects.

DECC’s consultation on removal of solar projects from the Renewables Obligation – July 2015
Published at the same time as the FiT Pre-accreditation consultation, this was a further consultation proposing the phasing out of support for solar energy under the RO. The consultation closed on 2nd September. The full consultation documents are available here.
