State of the Sector Survey 2020 now live. Please respond.

20/01/2020

The 2020 State of the Sector Survey is now live. Community Energy England and Community Energy Wales invite community organisations working on low carbon energy projects to respond to this survey so we can investigate the number, nature, and outcomes of community energy initiatives throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Last year’s State of the Sector report and data were used by the government, universities and community energy advocates across the UK. We need your input to continue this impact, providing evidence towards a supportive landscape for community-led energy projects in 2020.

Who should fill it out?

The survey is aimed at community energy organisations involved in low carbon activities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. This includes electricity and heat generation, energy storage, low carbon transport, energy efficiency, demand management and wider low carbon initiatives.

Why should I take part?

The State of the Sector 2020 report will help influence government policy over the next 12 months and raise awareness of the importance of community energy. The research will also feed into the ongoing work of Community Energy England and Community Energy Wales, supporting and aiding communities to develop their own low carbon projects.

What is the deadline for submissions?

5PM on Monday 24 February

In addition, an openly accessible database will be created as a resource for community energy researchers and practitioners. We hope that this resource will reduce the need for repeated research engagement and surveying of community energy organisations.

We greatly appreciate your input, which will help support and strengthen community energy in the UK through 2020 and beyond. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the project team at survey@communityenergyengland.org.
