Online event

This is a webinar hosted by the Centre for Sustainable Energy, Forest of Dean District Council and Forest Community Energy to reflect on the experience of setting up a community energy organisation from scratch in the rural district of the Forest of Dean. The webinar will highlight achievements, challenges and key learnings from the AURORA project in the Forest of Dean.

AURORA is an EU Horizon 2020 funded project being delivered by pilots across Europe in Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, Denmark, and the UK with the aim of driving forward citizen-led action on energy in local communities.

The webinar will highlight achievements, challenges and key learnings across the following themes:

• How we engaged the residents in Forest of Dean to individually and collectively take action on energy.
• How the Forest Community Energy group formed
• How we have gone about getting more rooftop solar in the Forest of Dean
• How the local authority has supported the development of community energy in the Forest of Dean and steps for the future.

This webinar is aimed at community organisations, community energy groups, local authorities or individuals who are interested in learning more about engaging people on community action on energy, the process of setting up a community energy group, and installing rooftop solar.
